A soul’s cry

I walk through a million souls,

Yet sometimes I feel so alone,

An actor in life, I play many roles

I shriek in happiness, in despair I groan

What is the purpose of my being?

My inner voice calls out to me,

Is there a message I’m not really seeing?

My mind wants to read it, my soul is simply free

For the soul knows that there is no goal,

This drama I’m in does not reflect me,

There is no act, nor is there a role,

In the vast spiritual realm, I’m just a tiny bee

The real me resides in a place too deep.

The image in the mirror makes me vain,

In my subconscious, when I sleep,

I find the connection and lose all the pain.

As I awake and return to the grind,

Back to the world, where I laugh and weep,

In this state, I’m controlled by my mind,

My soul cries out, ‘when will you sleep!’?

I loved the way you have used the words to rhyme and yet leave a thought behind with the reader…Its a poem that I dont think moves away from its spiritual angle much like your other poems, which mean different things to different people…Write some thing on love!!

  2. Mahaffrin says:

Well there is a thought in mind that I share,
For every wrong…there is a right somewhere,
So dont worry and sleep heavenly I say,
Cause God above always says "I'm There"

  3. Riddhima says:

simple, clean, and surprisingly wrought with honesty! or at least, i'd like to think it is so.

perhaps the next one, could be an ode to our poor missing book reviews?

  4. Tasneem says:

    Oh soul,
    you worry too much.
You have seen your own strength.
You have seen your own beauty.
You have seen your golden wings.
    Of anything less,
    why do you worry?
    You are in truth
    the soul, of the soul.

    love u partner…

    very well written …mwaaaaaah
